Don't you love December? With all the nice Christmas decor and lightings everywhere and listen to cozy (I called it cozy because it gives me a warm feeling) Christmas song playing when you go to shopping mall, supermarkets etc, really bring you into the mood of the festive season. What I love most is of cos the cosmetic set that is package especially for this festive season!

Oh I couldn't resist the Beaute de Kose set. Everything inside is so pretty and I have to get it. And another Kanebo Coffret Dor palatte in 02 (blue). The SA told me that once the existing Coffret Dor palattes are sold out, they will not have it at their counter anymore. Though I am not a fan of blue, but I just have to get it cos it is so shimmery and pretty.

How I love the Zoo

How many times have I been to the Zoo this year? I have lost count because we have the friend of zoo card! Better make good use of it for the $150 annual fee. We have a close contact with the animals. .

Constance was playing with her swim suit in the Zoo and then misplace it. So when we bring her to the new waterplay, we just let her go nake with the surfer short haha, how sexy. Didn't take any picture thought but she truely enjoy herself at the waterplay.

My love for Lunasol. It is a very expensive cosmetic line from Kanebo IMAO and some items sold out will not be re-stock! Furthermore, there is only 1 and only counter at Takashimaya, Ngee Ann City.

From the Sheer Contrast collection. Wanted to get the neutral palatte from the Lighting collection but sold out already. So sad.

Saturday at my favourite Kim Gary in Vivo City. Adrian said we shouldn't come here again next time so that we can explore other restaurants. So difficult to kick off the 'habit'.

Her favourite cow. Everytime we are inside a shopping mall, she will ask me where is the cow. She thought every mall has a cow haha. She gets to ride on the cow with her favourite cat.

I am back from my Hong Kong trip last saturday but I am so busy at work that I have no time to blog. Here are the haulage from the trip. Should have bought more but with a pair of eyes (my husband) staring at me from behind, I dare not haha. I will be back for more again in future!

Primers. The purple and green bottles are from an unknown brand, buy 1 get 1.

I found a NARS counter at one of the shopping malls in Mongkok, told Adrian that I want to stay there next time (cosmetic paradise!). Oh my goodness, I wanted so much to buy everything from NARS but NARS is so expensive so I bought 2 blushes in Orgasm and Madly. The Super Orgasm is too glittery. I saw a big Sephora poster in Mongkok too, but no time to go find out where exactly it is located. Anyway Sephora is coming to Singapore, so excited!

La Mer eye cream which I bought for $260+ at T3 before flying off to HK. Heard alot of good reviews about this eye cream but I don't see anything significant difference after using it. Anyway, for the amount of money I spent on this, I better use it religiously!

SANA concealer and MUFE concealer palatte. So regret not getting the MUFE Aque eye pencil!

Brow tint that I bought from HK Sasa. I love the Sasa there and they have many Sasa outlet around that open till 11pm. I love their Watson too which carry cosmetics like KATE, Lavshuca and Majolica and they open till 11pm as well.

HK night scenary is so beautiful and I like the weather there, so cooling but my skin couldn't stand the dryness and gets very itchy even after I apply tons of body lotion. I apply body lotion on Constance too, not sure she feels the dryness and itchness or not but I apply for her just in case. I am so glad that she has no problem taking the flight to HK and bring her oversea is so easy and she eats whatever porridge I cooked for her using my trusty Tiger thermal flask. What I like most about HK is their wanton noodle and cosmetics! Buying cosmetics in HK is definitely cheaper then getting the same thing here in Singapore. It is very difficult for me to shop for clothing with Constance around.

Here are 2 photos I took using my mobile camera, we had a hard time waking her up every morning in HK. She could sleep way past 10am if we didn't lift her up in a sitting position to wake her up. Calling her or shaking her just couldn't wake her up at all! On our last day, I had to carry her, load her into her stroller, carry her into the taxi and reload her into the stroller when we reach HK airport around 8.30am and she didn't wake up until we are about to check in at the terminal! Amazing baby!

Exam is Over...YEAH!

Yup, my exam is finally over, I had a new hair cut and I flying off to Hong Kong for holiday next Tuesday. I am switching to relax mode now haha but I have piles of work for me to do at work...don't care, enjoy first and work later =P

I enjoyed studying at home so much until I really don't feel like coming back to work anymore, cannot...no work = no money, and no money = no shopping. I cannot help lemming about getting these items =P

Fasio double dazzling eye. I want to get all the colors. These palattes are very shimmery and sparkling. Very tempted to buy them now but decided to save my money for HK trip.

Mine was an extremely busy and restless one.

On Saturday, waterplay at Constance's weekend class. Next week will be swimming...

On Sunday, she woke up at 6+am and couldn't go back to sleep. So I decided to bring her to Science Center Mcdonalds to have a hotcake breakfast. But before we head to Science Center. I brought her back to my office to search for my missing thumbdrive. My school assignments are in that thumbdrive! I still couldn't find it...

On Sunday afternoon, to the Fidget, a huge playground, at Turf City. This place is too challenging for me (not for her). She has no problem running around, getting excited and enjoying herself very very much. As for me, I have to chase after her, make sure she tackle each obstacle safely. My whole body is still aching. Nonetheless, I will bring her here again since she love it so much. Next time, I will ask daddy to climb the obstacle with her haha. Daddy is finally back from Australia!

Oh, I enjoyed spending quality time with Constance while Daddy was away. On Monday, was a public holiday, I spent the day watching TV with her at home. Yes, finally she could sit still with me to watch a Movie of Finding Nemo haha. I also taught her how to fix a 2-piece puzzle. She couldn't fix the puzzle on her own but everytime fixing the puzzle, she would ask me to help her by saying "Mummy please teach Tong Tong". I hope she can do it on her own but how can you resist not helping her when she said those words.

Finally, MAC 2008 holiday collection...Passions of Red warm palette and cool palette.

Isn't the gem box lovely? I have so many eyeshadows already, I also don't know why I keep on buying...I can't help it. I have just called MAC to reserve the She Said Red Mineral eyeshadows...

Btw, I won't be update this blog for the next 2 weeks. 'Cos, my exams are coming *Boohoo* and I need to start my revision "soon"! But, after my examinations, I will have 1 1/2 months of term break, YEAH! Hmmm, maybe I will do a post to display all my makeup collection...how about that?

Decided to make a come back...

Why? Because I know you all love me (my Constance to be exact haha!). Life has been pretty much unchanged for us (me, Adrian and Constance) except that I have to juggle between work, studies and taking care of kid. Everyday after class or staying at in-law place to spend time with Constance, the clock would have strike 12 midnight by the time I settle down at home! So with the little time I have left before I go to bed, I would rather use it to check on my wardrobe to see what I have to wear the next day to work or see what makeup I want to use the next morning or finishing up my school assignment. Therefore, blogging definitely didn't come into my mind anymore. Here I am, making a come back because I realised my girl has grow up so much and I didn't have time to capture her every moment, taking picture of her etc...making a big mistake here and by the time you know it, she is turning 2 very soon! After my examination (which is starting 2 weeks later), I need to spend some time reorganizing her baby photos. Imaging her 6-month-old till her 1-year-old photos are still not put nicely into the album yet (haven't bought one!) and I felt so guilty not taking monthly photos of her after she turned 1. What a lousy mummy I am...Ok enough have been said, let's see what we have been doing for the past few months since July (photos are placed in the order of from the oldest to the most recent).

My mum is 60 today and we booked the whole KTV lounge located at West Coast CC to celebrate her birthday. We have done that 5 years ago and now we are doing it again for her. She love it and she enjoy herself alot, so were the kids!

Sorry for the lack of post. My darling is 16 months now, can walk, can run and can talk. We brought her to the park last Saturday and swimming at my sister-in-law's place on Sunday. Whenever we can, we will bring her outdoor. So far, we have been to Zoo (she loves it), Science Center (abit bored, cos she couldn't under the sciences around her), Botanic Garden (one of her fav) and West Coast Park (we went there very often, even at 5am once when she cannot sleep!).

What am I up to recently? I got hooked on cosmetics...I always like to makeup and love cosmetics but never seriously into it until recently. My favorite brand is MAC, really love it! Here is my makeup collection and is still expanding...

Top shelf is my skincare products, currently I am using brand like H2O. Love it but I intend to switch to KOSE when they run out. The bottom shelf contains my makeup.

This girl just love to put on accessories! Whenever we go out now, she will want to put on her cap. I thought most babies will hate it, but she simply enjoys it. Yesterday at my mum's place, I let her wear a toy spectacle and if you don't remove it for her, she can keep on wearing it haha...All you have to tell her that it look nice and 'cannot' take it down *so bad of mummy*! Forgot to take a photo of her wearing the spec because was feeding her dinner. Will take a photo of it next time. Really easy to dress her up nowadays. Then recently I let her wear my nephew toy mask, look so cute but Daddy said very tom-boyish hahaha...

Sorry, so lazy to update my blog. First of all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. My darling Constance is 10 months old now...haiz so fast, 2 more months and she is going to turn 1 already. Have to start planning for her 1-year-old birthday bash. This girl still don't know what birthday is...but I hope she will enjoy and like it. Haven't decide on the location yet but definitely not doing it at home as I don't want to clean up the whole place after the event...

Checklist:

1. Location - have 2 places in mind but not confirm on which one yet. But likely will be at my aunt's condo, though I hope I can get the other one (secret place!)

Sorry for the leak of posts. I was MIA, partly I am lazy, partly because I feel stress. What happen? Because recently Constance doesn't want to eat her semi-solid foods. Why? Many reasons:

1. Not interested in food. She never show keen interest in eating before.

2. She was tricked to open her mouth to eat twice. So now she make sure she keep her mouth completely shut no matter how you try trick her to open.

3. Got burnt by accident once. So maybe she has phobia now.

4. Teething. I hope this is the main reason. Then she will go back to eating again but I am not very hopeful that this is the answer for her complete attitute to shut off from food as she still show no sign of teething yet.

I have tried all sort of things to make her to eat like switching my homemake cereal to rice porridge and to mash potatos. All didn't seem to work but she likes to eat yoghurt though. I don't want to cultivate the habit to only give the type of food she likes. What if one day she said she only want to eat plain white rice? What nutritious value can you get from there? I just want her to eat healthy so she can grow healthy. I guess my puree sucks...don't think I am allow t make it anymore...Once failed, others may said NO to it and put a stop to it. Haiz...

What happen? How? What should I do? Everyone told me this is temporary and she will return to eating again but I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Come and console me if you can and give me advise. I am so worried this is going to be permanent...

Anyway, I am going to make some finger food for her, like steam cube carrot, sweet potato and pumpkin. Super mini potato cheese balls and organic pancake. Hope she likes it. Wish me luck.

Making Combo

For some times, I did not update on Constance's solid and what she is eating. Yes, she is still taking the good and healthy food. She likes her oats, pearl barley and brown rice but she doesn't really like millet. And so far she is okay with all the puree I made for her. I am introducing meat, tofu, red date and wolfberry into her diet now and hopefully she likes it. Currently, she take about 1 small bowl of homemade cereal with 1 cube of fruit and 1 cube of vege and so far, no allegies. I have decide to make combo meal instead of just 1 type of vege at a time. This is what I made yesterday night (until 12am!!!!)

Tofu with red dates and french beans

First I steam the tofu and red dates together. Going to use the red dates juice for pureeing later.

Then the french beans.

I let the red dates cool off and remove the skin.

Pureed the cook french beans and sieved it. Red dates juice added.

Then blend everything together and pour it into the ice cube container.

Note: Today I took it out from the freezer the color turn abit darker, like cream of mushroom soup color. Hope it is okay.

Last Saturday, we went to Mcdonalds at West Coast Park for breakfast. Just the usual...

Both Daddy and me have messy hair, can tell we just woke up and Mummy drag us to Mcs for hotcakes! Daddy showing off my sexy thighs hehe...

Once at home, time for my bathe before I take my sweet nap. Mummy is trying to proof that I am not a chubby baby and I am make up of muscles. Don't see my lean lean, I weigh about 8.5kg, don't play play.

Last weekend we brought her to my aunt's place. She is back from Sydney and will stay here till March next year.

Sunday we went Ikea for breakfast again. Love to go Ikea for breakfast...can see alot of babies around, a good place for family gathering. Maybe next week will got to West Coast Mcdonalds for supper. We bought a new highchair, the one we have is too heavy and bulky.

On Saturday, we went to IMM for dinner. The mall was so crowded that we just ate our dinner at any place that required no queuing.

We are going IMM with my Gong Gong. If you are wondering why my Ah Ma didn't come along was because she was busy playing mahjong with her kakis!

After dinner, we sent Gong Gong home and we proceed to TCC at Mohd Sultan to meet friends for coffee. Constance was so fascinated by the surrounding that she refused to sleep. We took this photo at 11+pm.

Flash cards

Yesterday, my colleague asked if I teach Constance to read. Then she told me she attended the Glenn Doman's seminar and spent $599 on flashcards. Oh my goodness! I know GD's flashcards are solid and good but $599! I know the important and benefit to teach kid to read from young but alot of motivation still have to come from the parents. So what if you have GD flashcards but you do not have self-discipline? I do read to Constance occasionally and sing to her everyday. It is so difficult to get her to listen to me while I read as you know, she is so active (unless I tied her up which is impossible haha) but I still try anyway. Now I am adding flashcards and I hope she will benefit from it oneday. Again, it is not easy...especially when she is trying to snatch my A4 size paper!

This is my DIY flashcards. Cheapo me who is trying to save $599! But hey, if you have the heart, even DIY can work. Currently I am teaching things that she can see more often like items around the house and body parts.

I have completed the left panel of my eyelet wrap. Right panel going to complete soon as well.

FYI, the capalet is done but because I don't like how the ribbing look, I have frogged it. Now it has turned into a big ball. I have decided to change the ribbing into seed stitch pattern so now slowly redoing it. After the eyelet wrap is done, here is my next project:

Oh puffy sleeves are so IN now that I must make this piece! You can find puffy sleeves cardis/blouses everywhere and recently I bought 2 of such cardi and blouse from G2000. I bought some dark grey wool yarns just for this. So once my wrap is done, here I come...

Potty training!

My MIL has been training Constance to poo poo in the potty for quite sometime already and only this weekends, I successfully manage to get her to poo poo in the potty at home.

Last Tuesday, we brought Constance to KKH for her final heart scan. The scan showed her heart is fine and we don't have to go back to KKH anymore...yeah! Then we went to service our car and shopping at Robinson's.

We were invited to the Commemoration Dinner held at Pasir Laba Camp yesterday. Wow, we hope to attend more of such function next time...hehe free food! Anyway, the food is not that fantastic but the ambient is nice. Here are some of the photos we took.

For the capalet, I have separated the sleeves and the body. Hope to finish this soon then I can move on to my next project haha...It is a very simple project but don't know why I am taking so long to compete it.

I just started another scarf project. My friend, Marene, asked me to teach her to knit and she has choosen a scarf as her first project. I had helped her to buy the yarns and needle but after that no news from her. I guess she must be very busy at work so I try not to disturb her. Since she had already paid for the materials and don't know whether she is still interested to learn, I might as well make the scarf for her. If she is keen again, she can always work on another project. If not, she still get the product but is made by me.

Recently, I am not knitting anything for Constance. One reason is because she has alot of clothing already. I would like to knit a hooded jacket and dress for her but I haven't decided when I want to start it. Maybe after 1 more project for myself first hehe...

Mid-Autumn Festival

Also known as the Mooncake or Lantern Festival is coming. We had a celebration/gathering last Saturday at Joanne's house. Jo, want to thank you for letting us mess up your house again and offering your lovely place to us, really appreciate it. Not to mention, my darling doing a few flips on your huge bed and 'swimming' in your bathtub...haha...Jo, do you know you have a wonderful home and a lovely community! So make full use of the facility! A walk with Ivan during the evening around the compound would be romantic...So please don't waste it!

Wow...time flies, today is Friday already. I am so busy at work this week but I am glad friday is here now. In fact, only left with less then an hour at work place! Yeah...My little darling is coming home tonight. And there is a surprise awaiting her...hehe...

I rented this jumperoo for Constance, since she love to jump so much. Hope she will have fun playing with it.

This is my almost felted blanket. So sad...but hey, still usable.

And for these months, I have completed a few FOs. These are some mini projects - Branching out scarf and ruffle scarf.

This is how they look like when I wear it. But they are not for me, I am not a scarf person. The orange one is for my boss who is traveling to USA in December and the blue ones is for another colleauge who is leaving the Department. This mean we are going to have a new colleauge joining the Department...and sitting next to me...

I am seriously starting solids on Constance now. Hoping to feed her 2 meals a day....don't think I will move to 3 until she turn 1. I am quite comfy with 2 solids a day but for dinner, will try to make it lighter for her. Organic cereals!

Appraisal Period

Has been busy at work, so wasn't able to update my blog until now. Anyone miss us? Ok, appraisal period...lots of crap. My boss has been very nice to me, wrote tons of good words about my performance but will I get promoted next year? Again, she said she can only write story for me and it is totally up to Faculty level and HR to have the final say! Same like gambling, really have to depend on luck! She told me one of my colleauges doesn't deserve to be promoted two years back but she was just lucky. Frankly speaking, I am so much better then her! Ok...I should stop bragging and let Faculty/HR decide my fate, moreover, this is only my 2nd year with the Department...

Last Saturday, we brought Constance to my Aunt's new flat. The same Aunt whom I knit sweater for and the one we used to stay with at Orchard. She and my Uncle decide to own a flat after staying in "private" for 20 over years! In deed, they are one of the first few who hike the price of Kim Tian's HDB to over half a mil.

Last Sunday, we brought Constance to West Coast Mcdonald's for MY breakfast. She is too young to enjoy the food and Adrian is not a fan of Mc's. We do enjoyed ourselves though and hopefully can go again this weekend haha. As usual the staff love to distribute balloons to kids during breakfast hours, when the lady saw Constance and was preparing to hand one to her, Daddy said "Its okay, you can give the balloon to other kids since she is too young to appreciate it". But she was so attracted by the balloons...eyeing to lay hands on it. So when the lady left, she longingly look at others with balloons. Ok, that's it, we decide to get a balloon for her as we can't bear to see her feeling "disappointed". When the lady make her 2nd trip, we asked for one - a smaller one though. And seeing her smiling simply melts our heart and that's priceless!

And we finally took the playpan back from storhub and assembled it. The playpan was past down from my nephew and is still usable. With the confine space, I doubt she will enjoy staying inside for long.

Mummy, it is time you buy new tops for me. Mine has turned into mid-drift now!

Lastly, here is my latest knits. I have completed the blanket and the scarf. And I did a last minute scarf for another colleague who is leaving the Department. Arghhh...I accidentally felted the blanket. I washed the pure wool in washing machine using HOT water. Will post pictures tomorrow if possible.

I wasn't feeling so well so didn't do any updates for the weekend. As usual, my weekend is always happening with Constance around. Now, she knows how to make lot of noise to seek attention. And it is always very funny, sometime annoying, when she make those noise. Annoying because I don't know what she wants. I wonder what's her next trick will be...calling me mummy? Yesterday night, I went to visit her at my in-law place. I tied my hair in a ponytail...when I called her, she don't seem to recognise me...she must be wondering where is mummy's hair haha...but when I let down my hair again...she was like...okie, this is mummy!

Baby set knitted by my mum's friend. She is also another avid knitter, has been knitting for more then 10 years. She gave these to me just 2 weeks ago.

Brought her home on Thursday night and she blow raspberry at us when we ask her to sleep. Naughty girl!

Make potato and carrot puree on Friday morning. See I take precaution this time haha...

Brought her to Vivo City on Friday. We seldom bring her to shopping center after the hospital incident. She likes shopping and has no problem sitting in her pram.

Lastly, my attempt to cook baby porridge. It was a success but it taste so bland. How to make baby porridge tasty? For this, I just cook the plain porridge and add puree in it.

My blouse is done. Finally got a finish product...yeah! But I don't quite like it. I followed the instruction for a XS, used the exact yarn mentioned but the end product look more like a size M....sigh! Why is that so? I am not that kind who can do my own measurement/calculation and cast on the stitches which I think is right for me. I prefer to follow instruction and not bother with the math and calculation. I got skeptical when I cast on the 100 over stitches, I felt something not right, how can a size XS required 100plus stitches? Then again, I am to lazy to do my math therefore I reduce the needle by 1 size down. Oh...I should have reduced the needle by 2 size down! Ok, that is very me, always said should have done this and that. I guess this is how you polished up your skill and learn from experience. Using a 4ply cotton yarn to knit this design will be perfect but I am not going to knit this again...not my style. Ok, I should wait till I grow fatter then I wear this piece...haha...just kidding.

Enough of the blouse. I cast on a new project...for myself again haha. I am knitting this capelet using Jaeger extra fine merino wool in black. Love the feel of merino wool...so soft. I am still struggling with the blanket. Can't wait to finish it then knit some nice dresses for my sweetie pie. Will not cast on another new project without finishing the blanket. Speaking of which, the scarf was left untouch after completing 1 ball of yarn...

We went to Mcdonald's at West Coast Park. I really love the Mc's here, cozy environment with lots of playgrounds nearby. It is definately a great place for family outing and gathering. Adrian said we can make it a weekly affair to come here for dinner. Hmmm I doubt so...because he is not a Mc person haha...Anyway, we will bring Constance here more often...maybe oneday we can organize her birthday bash here.

The needles have arrived...I must said, some of them really look like satay sticks! What to do...this is Ebay, you paid peanuts so you get monkey haha...Overall, I am still very satisfied with what I bought this round.

Constance has turned 6-month-old now, PD has adviced me to start her on solid on a per day basis. He also recommend that I give her cereal. I must admit that I am a very lazy person but for my darling, I am welling to go to the extend to make healthy puree for her. The puree will be added to the cereal to make it taste better. Haiz...being mummy is not easy...

The pumpkin taste has some bitterness in it so I hope the sweet potato can make it taste better. I like the pear though, taste very sweet and yummy.

See the redness on my fingers...they were hurt by the steam when I removed the lid off the steamer. I may be very good at knitting but when come to cooking, I am super clumsy! This really hurts.

Oh looking through all my post, I realise that I am a very lazy mummy who doesn't bother to let her baby wear any shorts at home! Or at least on camera! Haha...find it more homey...just like men who don't bother to put on a T at home.

Very slow in my knitting lately and I am getting bored with my current projects. Oh no, cannot...must finish it. So tempted to start new project...haiz!

So tired now and I am very lazy to write (type)...all I want to say is, I am looking forward for next weekend to come. Constance is 6-month-old already, she is more responsive, more expressive and more fun to play with now. And she can do leopard crawl too. Cute cute!

This is my most favourite photo...Mickey and Constance. Love Constance' arch eyebrows, her big round eyes, pointy nose and M-shape lips. The double-eye lid on her right eye is still not very prominent yet. Hmmm...should I develop it into poster-size and frame it at home hehe...

Overwhelmed by Ebay excitement

Never felt so happy and excited bidding at Ebay before . Few days ago, I have won 14 pairs of single point knitting needles (size US1 to US15) @ US$9.90. So I decided to bid on another 14 pairs of 8" double point knitting needles (size US1 to US15) to save on shipping cost. This is a very useful tool if you want to knit sleeves in round or knit socks. Never did I expect that bidding the double point knitting needles can be more challenging than compare to the single point needles! Everyone wants to lay their hands on the 8" needles and sold price can goes as high as US$26 for the past 2 days. US$26 for 14 pairs of needles...hmm...not very expensive...but I wasn't sure if I want to spend this much on needles or not. So I wait, every morning, I log in to Ebay and waited patiently for that last few minutes before bidding end. The price usually start jumping fiercely during that very last minute, which can be from US$5 to US$20 etc. My luck is here today, wonder where everyone gone to, or majority already got what they want @ US$26. Not many bidders today and I won the 14 pairs of 8" double point knitting needles @ US$14.75! Ok, this may not be the best price but at least I got it at the lowest compare to the 2 gundos who got it before me! Hmm...28 pairs of knitting needles is alot but it is cheap compare to getting 1 pair at S$5 to S$10 here. Go try your luck if you wish, really worth the effort and money =)

I had blocked nose

Woke up this morning, while putting on my makeup, I decided to call back office to apply for a half-day urgent leave. I had delivery from Rent-That-Toy company from 9am to 11am. I had asked my mum to help but decided to stay home to collect the items myself. These are the toys I rented for Constance to play when she comes home this weekend. Adrian complaint that it is a waste of money, both to buy and to rent! Hey...let's give our little girl some decent toys to play. She is turning 6 (months) this friday so just make it a birthday treat for her.

By mid-morning, my nose got so conjested that I had difficulty breathing. I search through my first-aid box and found some yellow pill meant for itchness, rashes and running nose. The label on the pill wrote *may caused drowsiness*. Since it said MAY, I thought it won't and I popped 1 pill into my mouth and that's it! Nose still super conjested but the whole world around me is spinning. Btw, the pill dated Nov 2004, expiry on Sept 2007! Guess I couldn't go to work anymore therefore I went to a nearby clinic to see the Doctor. I was happily taking my i-medic card issued by my company from NTUC Income along to the clinic, hoping I can use it so that I can pay less. That clinic was listed in the card list but when I flashed my card to the lady sitting behind the counter she said "Oh, we only recognise the RED card issued by NTUC Income". This really pissed me off, I said the card was also issued by NTUC Income and her replied was "we don't recognise the i (as in i-medic) on the card". Anyway, I didn't continue to argue with her, seeing the Doctor is more important. Doctor is a nice guy, he gave me 1 day MC. I took the pills given by the Doctor and was completely knock out flat on my bed. I believe it must be the previous pill I took since the Doctor said his won't cause drowsiness. I woke up, no more blockage but still having the spinning effect now. I did some house chore so that I don't have to do it tomorrow...

Chubby little Alycia, my niece who is 2 days older then Constance. Pretty huh, with lot of hair but she like to sit with her leg open wide. Airy maybe.

Not so chubby yet naughty little Constance. She loves to stand and jump jump jump.

I did put in effort to make the blanket for Constance. With 215 sts on the knitting needle, it felt like a never-ending-project. After about 20 rows, it suddenly strike my mind that cotton (I am using 4ply cotton) may not be an ideal material to use to make a warm blanket. I am going to spotlight later to see if there is any baby wool!

Sunday night is updates night!

It has become a trend for me now - updating my blog every Sunday nights. Weekends are always very 'happening' for me especially with Constance at home. Nonetheless, I still find time for knitting.

Constance's cardi is done! I made this without any instruction, done by looking at the design itself. Thought it will be too big for Constance but it turn out just fit and nice. Soon she will out grown it but nevermind, it gives me more opportunity to knit another cardi for her hehehe...already have another project in mind.

The back piece of my blouse is done. Hope to complete the front piece by next week but I doubt I can make it. I have been bragging about making blankie so it is time that I put my words into action. These days the weather is so crazy, past nights have been cold and Constance's need a blanket to warm her. The receiving blanket which I used as a blanket is not thick enough.

And these scarves are made from left over yarns! The grey one is done. Going to give it to a 'distance' friend (friend's friend). She is leaving Singapore this September to UK for further studies. The orange one is for my AO, she mentioned that she likes to collect scarves so one more to add into her collection.

Yesterday while I was storing Constance's 0-3 month-old clothing, I found this cute little hat with ears. I am sure it will attract alot of attention if wear it on Constance hahaha...

Stress!

Last time she had 'suspected' Kawasaki diseases and now Roseola Virus (aka false measles)! Why my Constance so 'suay'? She is recovering well except not drinking much milk. The last time with Kawasaki, her milk intake was reduced from 5 0z to 4 oz and before Roseola, back to 5 oz again. I was very happy then. Now, she is consuming 3 oz the most! She is still very bubbly and active so let hope she drink more and no more illness! And I lost weight too...

Mommy, I am about 66cm tall and weighing 6.95kg!

New friends

A few days ago, I made a complaint about some yarns I bought from Ebay. I have given it to a anonymous lady who left a comment in my blog. Her name is Eileen who pick up knitting recently. I guess the yarns will be useful for her as she can use it to polish up her knitting skill. Her current projects are scarves and maybe someday she will venture into something else. So Eileen, keep up the good work, don't give up ok and maybe oneday, you can start a blog and talk about your knits! Not forgetting to mention that it is so nice of her to give these lovely booties to Constance...Thank you very much.

Another lady I get to know recently is Shirly (in fact, I get to know a bunch of new ladies from the Singaporemotherhood forum!) . But Shirly wants to learn to knit and crochet. I may not be a good teacher but I will try my best ok cos I must admit that knitting sock is a big challenge, not only to you but to me too haha...

Quick Updates

I cast on a new project this morning. I am making a top for myself. Rusted root and eyelet wrap will come later as I want to do something quick and easy - brainless job! My lame excuses...

I have made 2 cute booties for my darling. Suppose to be more but these 2 are the most presentable ones so I discard the rest and keep these 2 instead! The weather is turning cold, I am still contemplating whether I should make a blanket for Constance. Scare it may turn into a 'white elephant' to collect dust. But on the other hand, if she don't use it now, she can still use it when she grow older...Ok, SET! I will cast on the blanket next week.

Lastly, the poncho. After blocking it, the piece didn't turn out exactly what I wanted it to be. I wanted it to be flat and rectangle in shape so I guess maybe the yarn has some elasticity therefore it keep bouncing back to the pre-blocking shape. I will trying ironing it next week to see if it help. If not, I may turn it into a shrug or scarf haha...

As usual, the weekend is here which mean I have to take care of Constance, no time for blogging. I will upload some photos on Sunday night!

Super lousy mood!

I bought 5 skeins of Bernat Gloucester cotton yarn from Ebay recently. The color look pretty and I thought I would like it but when I received it today, my heart sank! The previous owner must had bought it quite some time ago because the yarns have turned yellowish! So how, what can I do with it? How can I remove the 'stain'? Can I wash it with detergent? Please advice me.

Her feet is growing fast and she no longer can fit into her 0 to 6-month-old socks/booties and I have no time to go shopping for her booties or socks since we do not wish to bring her to crowded places during weekends.

Another failure!

Very disappointing, my shrug turned out to be another failure! I followed the instruction exactly; word by word! But in the end after stitching up the pieces together, the neck area still turned out weird and looks very ugly when I wore it. I tried redoing the neck, yet it still turn out TOO HIGH for my neck! So sad, wasted my time, effort and yarns. Perhaps I shouldn't have attempted something so complicated especially when I am just an amateur knitter. Sorry all, no final pictures to show everyone...just want to close this chapter and move on.

Brought Constance to see her PD today and as usual, she had her 2 jabs. Don't ask me what the jabs are cos until now, since her birth, I am still very blur about all these so called 5 in 1, 6 in 1 etc. Just do what the PD recommend so long it is good for her. What I hate most is, fever after jab. Yes, she is having slight fever now and hopefully she can recover soon. Pay money to suffer =(

What to do with the left over yarns

Most of the times I will have left over yarns after I completed a project. Very wasteful to throw away the 1-2 balls of yarn but I wouldn't want to do something out of it for myself or for Constance if the colors is not right. So why not use it to knit scarves for friends and colleagues? This way I won't have to pile up on the left over yarns in my knitting box to collect dust hehe...Brilliant me!

Once I finish knitting my friend's poncho, which is about 8 inches in lenght already, I am going to knit a scarf for my AO (Administrative Officer) who is going to USA to visit her son in December. Don't waste the yarns =)

Ok instead of creating individual posting, I list them down instead.

1. Combi Carrier

My friends bought this carrier for me during Constance full month celebration. First time trying it because instruction said to use it when baby turned 4 month. Err...are the legs suppose to spread so wide apart?

2. Constance dress

I alter the design abit, my version is without sleeve.

Constance "wearing" the dress (I quietly lay the dress on top of her when she still haven't wake up in the morning...crazy mummy haha!). The size is for 12/18 months, so for the time being, need to store it inside the toyogo box.

3. First puree

Pumpkin and sweet potato. I am not so 'ON" to make my own puree! This is from Heinz, recommended for 4 to 6 months old baby. Really have to salute to those mummies who make puree for their babies. I know it will be fun but I am simply not the cooking type. I wonder how am I going to survive when it is time for her to take porridge. It is not that I don't know how to cook but I am just lazy to cook...Anyway mother instinct, sure can live through it!

Friday the 13th...I have goood news and bad news.

Good News

I completed 2 WIPs this week. 1 is my girl's dress and another 1 is my UFO. I found it in my knitting box, so might as well finish it. I will take some pics and upload it once they are dry (I wash it, my way of blocking...lazy me!)

Bad News

Ready? My MIL called me this morning to let me know Constance was down with fever last night! Temp flux between 37.6 to 38.0. Friday the 13th...nothing turn out good on this day! Just last month, Constance had a very high fever and was hospitalized for 7 days! The diagnosis was 'suspected Kawasaki Disease'. She was just discharged by doctor on Monday that she no longer had this disease, with platelet count of 300plus (it was 600plus when she was ill). I felt paranoid when I know she is having fever, 'am so worried that she will have this disease again. The thought of staying in hopsital traumatized everyone. I will call MIL in the afternoon again, hopefully the fever is gone by then.

Lastly, I took this photo when I moved to my new office 2 weeks ago.

Called MIL and Constance has recovered from her fever. Then again, still need to monitor her and take temp when I bring her home tonight. Mommies! Always worry this and that!

No more WIP in hand now, so if can, I will CO a new project tonight. Should I start on the shrug first or Rusted Root(RR)? I am so tempted to make RR after I saw Regg's.

Today is my mum's birthday so after breakfast, we went to Hong Kah CC to fetch her home from her singing listen. She was so surprise to see us hehe cos she didn't expect to see us there.

At my mum's void deck, we met my childhood friend. Today is her customary wedding (dinner on Monday). We are invited to customary wedding buffet lunch.

After lunch, we went to visit our Aunt. Yes, the one we use to stay together with. She and her family is flying back to Sydney tomorrow, her daughter is starting Uni there.

At dinner time, we are invited to Roy and Jess home for pizza. Suppose to see baby Jayden (2 months younger then Constance) but he was still sleeping when we left the place at 1opm. We received a good news! Alex and Lily, who was also there for dinner, are expecting a baby in late Jan/early Feb next year. Yeah, Constance will have another playmate.

Weekend Parents

I am a weekend parent; not like other parents who can see their kiddos everyday - bath them, feed them, sleep with them and wake up the next morning to be greeted by their beautiful smiles. What to do, I have to work and Constance's caregiver (my in-laws) stay far away from us. So I miss my kiddo alot and whenever I have my usual 'withdrawal symptom', I look at Constance's photo or play her movie clips. Sound sad huh don't get to witness all her every first thing in life...but the plus point is, I have free time to do my own things haha...like go shopping, catch a movie and do my knitting.

I decided to pen down my thoughts again, after stopping for nearly a year. Thanks to all the 'fan-cy' out there, I didn't know that people would actually read my blog. I felt so touched by all the wonderful comments left here and with friends encouraging me to blog and asking me to re-read what I have written, the more I should continue blogging again!

Guess I owe everyone lot of explanations why I stop blogging. Let me list it here:

Yes, I gave birth to a lovely baby girl on 24 Feb this year. I did mentioned that I have fertility issue and after going throught 3 operations to remove my endometriosis and a failed IVF, we didn't think that we can be parents ever. I enjoyed my hobbies and during that time when I reminded myself to get a healthier life, I was already 5 weeks into my pregnancy without realizing it! Thereafter, I wanted this miracle baby so badly that I stopped my hobbies and this was how I got attacked by the lazy bug haha...I keep reminding myself that I cannot afford a miscarriage and 9 months later, she arrived safely in my arms. Yes, my Aunt and her family are home but won't be long because they need to fly back to Sydney on 16 July. Oh, the sweater that I've made for her, fit perfectly on her! I wanted very much to take a photo of her with the sweater on but afraid she might think I am crazy...so too bad, no such opportunity. I spent the whole night knitting, after picking them up from the airport. I am rushing to complete my Project Summer so that I can start the AV KAL! This morning, I wake up with a swollen eye haha.

My DH flow off again, this time to Australia and will be back on 17 July. As usual, I miss him haha...and can't wait for him to come home. While he is away, I did a fair bit of knitting to keep myself busy. I started to cast on the sleeve for my Project Summer and started a new project for my Aunt's sweart no. 2. Thanks for all the feedback, I have discussed with my DH and he too, thinks that number 4 won't suit my aunt because of her short torso. Oops, did I mention she is round too =P

At first, I thought of using the cashmere to make the sweater in Rebecca Mag 29. Then I realise I don't know how to work on the pattern! In the end, I decided to change my mine and use the yarns to make one of these instead:

I personally like number 4 and I am thinking of making one for myself in future. It look so victorian in style to me! Will it be too fancy for a middle age lady? Or should I pick Number 1 for her? She is more on the plum side and has a shorter torso so I am not sure if the victorian style will suit her or not.

Feel so touched by her words. Oh, how careless of me, I didn't intro my DH to her =P

It sadden me everytime someone mentioned about the little ones. Everyone can have it except us. It will never come and I dare not hope for one. Just last Saturday, me and DH went shopping at Robinson. If not because the customer service center is located in the children's department, we would not want to go there. The little stroller (we always hope that one day we can get the sport series stroller haha), the baby cot and the clothing are all so sweet. After we were done with collecting our free $20 voucher, cut across the children's department and down the escalator, my DH said, "we won't get to buy those stuff the rest are looking."

My DH brought me to his promotion ceremony cum dinner. Surprisingly, I bumped into two persons whom I never met for a very loooooong time.

No 1 - My secondary school geography teacher, Mrs Ong. Her husband, who is a NSmen, got promoted too. The instant she walked passed me, I recongnised she was my teacher. She still looks the same except she has grown 'bigger'. I wanted to approached her to say "hi" but afraid she won't recognise me. Then, I found her staring at me. So what should I do? It looks so awkward as I tried not to meet her eyes but it is too obvious and I cannot be so rude! Quickly, I flashed her a big smile and she gave me this hand and mouth signal asking, "Do I know you?" Immediately, I walked towards her and said, "YES! you are my geography teacher." Wow...so amazing and unbelievable, my teacher actually recongnised me after 12 years! I didn't expect her to remember my name though but when I told her I am "Yuling" she said, "oh yes, Yuling!" She used to be my favour teacher and I really enjoyed her lessons. We chat abit, talking about my school days and I tried to get her recalled the rest of my classmates. She couldn't visualize who they are when I told her the names. So she said she would go back to check the year book. Sadly, there wasn't any year book during our time. She even asked if I had a class photo and obviously, I don't. She took down my email and hoping I can go back to school to look for her with the rest of the classmates one day. Yes, she still teaches at JTSS! Now, I wonder how could I contact my ex-classmates...

No 2 - ex-colleague from Cargill. We chat alot tonight, about Simex, about his wife (who also got promoted), about my sister and ex-BIL (they are ex-colleagues too) and about becoming a car saleperson. I gave him my number but I don't think he will call hehe.

Yes! Today is the big day (3 years back). No celebration though because we focuse more on ROM day, nevertheless, we still try our best to remember today. I want to say to my DH:

"I really love you. Though I sometime did'nt pay much attention to you - busy doing my knitting hehe, I must say - your presence around me is important. I feel lonely each time you go on a oversea assignment, I won't stop you from going because I know it will benefit your career but I will eagerly wait for you to come home. I hope I didn't neglect or take you for granted (other then spending your money, making you angry because I am lazy, making you worried because of my poor health and a total burden to you). I love to do things together with you and I enjoying talking and laughing together with you. We may not have children but there's always ways to brighten up our life and I just want to be with you."

Recent WIPs

Presenting my recent WIPs. The orange ones is my aunt's sweater. Almost done and in fact, it is done when I tried to update my blog! Only left with blocking and tucking in the loose ends. Finally! One down and one more aunt's sweater to go and that's it. Next, the blue ones (more like lilac though) is my Project Summer. That's the back part you see here and I am now working on the front. Lastly, the grey ones is a vest and I have posted the pattern here. Since the pattern is written in japanese, I have a hard time deciphering it. I just have to keep my finger crossed and hope it fit when it is done.

As I have said, I have many projects in mind but due to my poor memory, I sort of forget who is next. Worst, I may change my mind and use the yarns to work on other projects instead. No discipline, that's what I called. Oh, this project I must do - my aunt's 2nd sweater! I will be doing the red sweater from Rebecca 29. Mine version will be in green cashmere.

Crazy skating

Finally, I can go skating again. And today, I skate from West Coast to East Coast! Nah...I was just exaggerating haha. But true enough, me and DH when to West Coast Park to skate followed by going to East Coast Park to skate. The park - no 'kick' at all; small and it takes less then an hour to complete skating around the whole park.

Not satisfied by the easy accomplishment, I told DH-"Let's go to East Coast Park!". Woh, East Coast Park is HUGE. It stretches from Tanah Merah Safra to Fort Road. Great place to skate and lots of gals and guys to see! And we bumped into Chen Hanwei, one of the TCS actor. He is skating too.

We are going to East Coast Park to skate again tomorrow and maybe every weekends hehe

Argh! Selling and Buying houses is so taxing

Selling house:
- Look for agents
- Allow potential buyers to view my house
- Receive cheque from potential buyer
- Ton of paperworks to settle
- Allow HDB staff to view my house
- Then the waiting game begin:
- 1st appointment about 1 1/2 months later (Great, DH not in town, need to look for lawyer to issue power of attorney letter)
- 2nd appointment, 4 weeks after first appointment
- Apply leave to attend 1st and 2nd appointment
- More paperwork to settle
- Handover keys and officially sold house

Buying house:
- Called agents to view houses
- Ideal house, ask Fengshui master to give 2nd opinion
- Issue cheque to seller
- Ton of paperworks to settle
- Look for Banker to issue home loan
- Transfer money to bank
- More paperwork to settle and issue another cheque
- The waiting game begin:
- 1st and 2nd appointment, pay more money and more paperworks to settle
- Again, have to apply leave
- Receive keys from seller and officially own the house

Renovation:
- Get Fengshui master to look at floorplan
- Look for ideal interior designer (ID)
- Get quotations from IDs
- Apply for renovation loan from bank
- Before renovation start, Fengshui master to decide where to hack
- Apply for more leave to make sure contractor doing a good job
- Renovationn complete, more cleaning
- Look for the prefect "Guan Yin", bring it to temple for praying ceremony
- Fengshui master to advice move-in procedure
- Furniture move in
- Finally officially move in and to plan for house warming party

Ok, what do we learn from here:
- Don't be too harsh and jump into buying a house. Make sure is it 'worth' buying, if not will end up like us, selling and buying a new ones.
- Fengshui is very important

After all these efforts put in, that's what I called dream home!

As you all know, I have many projects in mind, all queuing up nicely, waiting for me to knit them. So I cannot just jumped into the recent KAL and ignore those who have queued until the "cows come home". So to be fair, I have to knit one of my project-in-mind first after I complete 1 (or 2) of my current projects. KAL is important but project-in-mind is also equally important. I hope by saying this, it will help make me feel less guilty...

I delibrately choose an easy design to work with so that I can complete it fast. If not, my the other projects will "see the cows" soon.

Yay so excited about this KAL project. But first, I must finish some of my UFOs before embarking on my next journey. There's no time limite and you can start as and when you are ready. Marvelous! The yarn use is Adrienne Vittadini Dianna (51% cotton and 49% microfiber) but I don't intend to follow actually what it calls for. So please give me suggestion, can I use 100% cotton or choose another yarn with similar percentile?

Cashmere...soft, luxury yarn that cost me US$89.90 for 500g! Yet again, they are not for me. Another or hopefully last *cross my finger* request from my aunt. Cashmere is so lovely but too warm for our weather! If there is some leftover, I'll see if I can make a tank out of it hehe.

This weekend we went hunting for our dream home around Pasir Panjang and West Coast area. Finally we found one - The Infiniti. Wow, the showroom flats look fantastic; the kitchen and toilets finishing look great, the facing of the unit looks ideal and the unit number is nice - #09-18! TOP is June 2009 so just nice for us to save up some cash to pay our future loan. We gave the Developer the 5% deposit but due to some disagreement with them, we took back the cheque and walk out of the showroom. Anyway, DH is worried that the Condo's location is too far away from town, worried that future development around that area will block our scenic view and afraid that the units will be built too close to one another etc. All these factors will affect the value of our unit. As I have said, this is a dream home and dream home is never meant to come true...

The title says it all! Finally complete the cowl neck and moving on to the sleeves. Hmm...to have short sleeves not a bad idea after looking at the pic. What you think?

About my next project what should I call it? It doesn't come with a unique name - just known as 'Long Top with Lacy Pattern'. That's it, let's called it 'Project Summer'. Pardon me, I know I lack creativity in naming my project haha!

The longest skate ever...about 17 Km and I completed it with aching feet! It was fun and I enjoyed it. About 40 skaters turn up for the night skate and we moved through some smooth and some nasty terrain. Up slope, down slope, crossed bridges and crossed traffics and I am glad that I didn't fall. Saturday Night Skate

Skateline has organized a SNS on this Saturday, May 27 and we have signed up for it. The distance will be from Bishan Park to Esplanade Park. The route will take us along the kallang river park connectors, enroute - the smoothest track in Singapore from Braddell Road to Potong Pasir as well as some quaint Kallang River Bridges. This is a challenging 1.5 hour skate suitable for intermediate skaters. Wow...If I can conquer this, I will be amazed! And of course, proud of my accomplishment.

The yarn I showed you the other day is for this project. It looks simple to do but I just couldn't get the pattern right and I keep frogging it many times until I fed up! If only the pattern is written in English, I will have no problem at all but it is written in Japanese.

Eventually, I decided not to work on the pattern and use the yarn for this instead.

My Aunt's sweater: Blocking the back. Knitting the front now and will be completing soon. Given the tight deadline (by my Aunt), no choice have to speed up a little bit.

Somewhat cowl: My cowl's ribbing is almost done. I have just joined the sexy knitters club and this is one of their nominated project. The next nominated project(s) will be announced in July. I have given my 2 cents worth by submitting a nomination, so let's see what's the next nomination is and hopefully it is something interesting!

What's next: This is for my next project.

That's all for the updates. My DH's car broke down just now. It was working fine when he came to fetch me from work but it just went flat when he tried to restart the engine after our dinner at my IL's place. We had no choice but to take a cab home and guess what, we saw a dog laying in the middle of the road when we flagged down a cab! It must be badly injured and it is not moving. I have a strong urge to save the dog but I don't have the courage to do it. What if it is dead? Anyway we left and felt aching pain in our heart. The lucky thing is, cars who saw the dog, steered away from the middle lane but I am sure some reckless drivers will run over the dog. Just a matter of time only.

My DH went to Myanmar today and he will be back on Friday. I sent him to the airport and when I saw him left, I felt a sense of emptiness...so sad. I thought I can have my little 'freedom' when he is not around but instead, I feel lonely and I miss him.

I have been rollerblading this weekends and this is what I get by the end of today's lesson. Ouch...so painful but I enjoy the lessons and I can't wait for next weekends to come...so that I can blade and see my DH soon hehe!

It was a one-and-a-half hours of most intense feeling I've ever had! The movie was gruesome, sick and disgusting!!! I don't find it scary but I do feel 'stress-up' watching it hahaha...Oh you get to see lot's of boobs and bloods too. If you're above 21, you should go watch this movie because you'll never get to watch it on television! Quentin Tarantino is AWESOME, love his creation like Kill Bill and one of the episodes in CSI LV.

Beside working on my aunt's sweater, I have two other on-going projects that I have yet to complete! Slow knitter...yes I am but at least I don't have any UFO laying around hehe.

On-going projects:

1. Somewhat cowl. I should have chosen a darker color to knit this project but instead, I used a very light, earthy brown that is quite close to cream color. It looks too plain! It is almost 70% done so no point frogging it now. Who knows, I might like the end product...*keep my fingers crossed*

2. Lacy bolero from Rebecca Mag 31. Oh I love this project and I even used the same color yarn as shown in the picture here. It is almost 90% done, only left with seaming of sleeves and ribbing. I promise, once it is done, I will show you my lovely lacy bolero!

I missed my rollerblading lesson today because I was so sleepy that I couldn't wake up in time. It must be the wedding dinner yesterday that made me so lethargic. My friends are into their level 2 lesson but I am still stuck in level 1. Damn it! Must attend lesson next weekend if not I won't be able to catch up. Oh we celebrated my FIL birthday today :)

Polling Day

Today is polling day...hmm when was the last polling? 4 years ago? I can't remember maybe is because I didn't get to poll the last time since my district was walk over then. This is my first polling but I am not enthusiastic about it at all. Why? Because I hate to queue up!!! Ok enough talking about polling.

Oh btw, I am selling my house; transaction begin on 1st June. So currently, I am staying at my aunt's place. And this is what I get to see from my bedroom window. Recognise that brown building?

Progress for my aunt's sweater: I managed to finish the ribbing yesterday so will start knitting the cable pattern soon. The sweater called for 8" of ribbing but I guess my aunt body is not that long, so I did 6" of ribbing instead.

That's all for today. Busy day for me because I need to go to GD to buy more circular needles, new yarns for my future project (hehe), go polling and tonight I need to attend my friend's wedding. Ciao...
